Málaga and Andalusia

The area offers a variety of excursions

El Palo - real Spanish lifestyle

El Palo is the eastern-most neighbourhood of Málaga and a former fishing village. Due to its well preserved typical Spanish lifestyle with many small streets and former fishermen's houses this neighbourhood doesn't provide hotels and souvenir shops. This area is not only popular for students but also for the Malagueños from the city center who enjoy a relaxing meal on the beach here. There are many shops, the market hall, restaurants (with fish and tapas!) and cafes just around the corner.

The beach is very close to "La Casita Juanita" in about 3 minutes walking distance. From spring to autumn it gets cleaned on a daily base by the authorities of Málaga and is also ideal for families with small children. Many Spaniards with local knowledge also like to go there, especially on weekends with the whole family. This excursion is often combined with a visit to one of the wonderful, typical fish restaurants on the promenade.

If it at some point you feel that it's too quiet and tranquil in El Palo you can easily walk to the neighbouring Pedregalejo district on the beach. Due to its bars and pubs this is a trendy and very popular area. In addition, you can easily get to the center of Málaga in 15-20 minutes by bus. The bus stop is only a 3-minute walk from "La Casita Juanita".

Málaga - birthplace of Pablo Picasso and Antonio Banderas

Málaga street art
With almost 600,000 inhabitants Málaga is the second largest city in Andalusia after Seville and the sixth largest in Spain. The climate is characterized by the sea, warm summer and mild winter months.

Many sights, shops, restaurants and nightlife attract visitors to downtown Málaga. Life pulsates in the streets, the hospitality of the Andalusians is great. After an exciting and successful day of shopping, delicious tapas and the Málaga wine invite you to enjoy and relax.

In addition, culture and history are not neglected: churches, squares and museums like the Picasso Museum or the Centre Pompidou - there is enough to see in this great Andalusian city. It is not for nothing that Málaga is one of the cultural metropolises of Europe today.

Andalusia - the south of Spain

In addition to Málaga, there are a multitude of sights in all of Andalusia: the Alcázar, the Plaza de Espana and the cathedral in SevilleMezquita in Córdoba, Alhambra in Granada - to name just a few. In addition, trips to the Caves of Nerja, a hike in El Torcal or on the Caminito del Rey (king's path), a visit to the white villages like Ronda and Grazalema or a trip to Gibraltar along the Costa del Sol. These famous excursion destinations can be reached in a maximum of approximately 2 hours by car.

Of course we are happy to give our guests in La Casita Juanita recommendations and an overview of possible activities. We also arrange - on request - customized excursions or (tapas) tours in Málaga and all of Andalusia. Just ask us!
